Privacy policy
Effective October 19, 2026.
This policy covers janiebrown.agency and the requests sent through it: what Janie Brown collects, why, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
- The contact form: your name, phone number and ZIP code, plus anything optional you add (email, topic, meeting preference, best time, message) and your consent choices.
- How you arrived: campaign tags in the link you clicked (such as utm_source), the page that referred you, and the first page you saw, so we know which flyer, search or referral is working.
- Technical data: our web host handles your IP address and browser details to show you the site and block abuse. To limit repeat submissions we keep a scrambled, one-way version of your IP address for an hour, never the address itself.
We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or session recording. We don't run third-party analytics. The optional music player stores only whether you turned it on, in your own browser, for that visit.
How we use it
To call, email or, only if you opted in, text you about your request; to prepare for a meeting; to keep the records insurance regulations require; and to keep the site secure. Nothing you share is used for unrelated purposes.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with service providers that help run the site and deliver your request (web hosting, email, and Google, which stores requests in a private Google Sheet kept for Janie Brown); with Inglewood Cemetery Mortuary, Homesteaders Life Company or another insurance company if you decide to apply for a plan, policy or annuity; or when the law requires.
What happens when you press send
Our server checks your form and keeps a backup copy. Your browser then sends the same form straight to Google, which adds it to the private Sheet and emails Janie. Because your browser contacts Google for that step, Google receives your IP address and browser details, as with any Google service, acting as our service provider. Please leave Social Security numbers, health details and payment information out of the form.
Text messages
Texts are optional and separate from your request. Reply STOP at any time to end them. Agreeing to texts is never a condition of buying anything, and we never share your mobile number or text consent with others for their marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep request information only as long as we need it to follow up and meet recordkeeping rules. Stored website requests are deleted automatically after two years unless they became part of a plan or contract.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it, and you won't be treated differently for asking. Email janie@janiebrown.agency with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We will confirm it is you and respond within 45 days. Someone you authorize in writing can make the request for you.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We don't track visitors across sites, so the site works the same whether or not your browser sends Do Not Track. A Global Privacy Control signal is treated as a request to opt out of selling or sharing, which we don't do in any case.
Security and children
Every page is served over HTTPS. This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16.
Changes and questions
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Questions are welcome at janie@janiebrown.agency.
